Líadain Von Der Decken
Líadain is an aspiring radio documentary producer with a background as a corporate communications director.
She is currently working on her first radio feature on Trilingual kids in Gaelscoileanna for Raidió na Life. An outside-the-box thinker with a skill at creating angles and stories that draw in the audience, Líadain has over 15 years international experience in pressurized communications environments giving her great transferrable skills in creating strong content, reaching deadlines and discerning relevant information. From writing speeches to creating high-level multimedia presentations her skills lie in creating and polishing the story into an appetising and invigorating form.
A fluent Irish, German and French speaker, having been brought up in a bi-lingual household and having studied and worked in communication roles in Brussels and Munich.
Some of her areas of interests include: our education system and how we can value of all types of intelligence; aesthetics and our over-reliance on visual stimulation; how we govern ourselves – the citizen’s role in democracy. She is interested in how we can marry a listener’s need to hear the familiar with offering a deeper dive and an alternate view.
Documentary making is in the blood. She comes from a family of TV documentary makers who are also frequently on the radio airwaves.
